Very decent
I have enjoyed playing this on the iPad so much that Im interested in buying a physical copy to add to table top game get-togethers. It does take a few plays (perhaps several) to really get the hang of it, but once you do understand it, its actually not as complicated as it first may seem. In fact, I find it quite elegant.
Rolling dice for resources (not unlike Settlers of Catan) adds a fun (if small) thrill element of chance missing in some other popular (and excellent, I might add) "new wave" table top games like Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, Small World, Seven Wonders, Dominion, Citadels, etc. that get more table time in our small group of board gamers.
The iPad version of Puerto Rico on the other hand didnt catch my interest as much.
As for cons, its important to have a good grasp of what other players are doing/have done so far in a game, and since the developers went with design over utility the iPad version of the game makes it a little hard to keep track of what AI and other opponents are up to. That alone could be worth docking a star from the score.
And yet, now that I understand the game better, Im really enjoying playing it. So, I bumped it from 4 to 5 stars.
